The Super Red Empress is a brilliantly colored fish for the African cichlid aquarium, with a gorgeous red base color with dazzling blue all over its body.

They are apart of the haplochromis cichlid family, which consist of countless very colorful, medium - large fish from Lake Malawi in Africa. This family of cichlids do better in a group or community setting with fishes of similar species and sizes, since they tend to be on the aggressive side.
