Golden Rabbit Snail
Golden Rabbit Snail
Tylomelania sarasinorum
Golden Rabbit Snails are an easy, active, colorful, and interesting species of snail to add to the aquarium. They usually do not bother plants, unless it is Java fern, as long as they are well fed. They enjoy algae, decaying plant matter, pellets, flakes and wafers used for shrimp and fish, along with blanched veggies like spinach and zucchini. These snails come from warm, alkaline lakes, so they must be kept between 76-82F, and at a pH of 7.3 - 8.6. If they are kept any lower than this, they become sluggish and their beautiful shell begins to deteriorate.
